Again, I am a Canadian father and am only interested in making a secure and prosperous society for everyone!

Most of her policies are not radical and paint a picture that “holds the course” while mixing in past successful policies; I will comment on matters I have dedicated significant consideration to finance and security.

Finance

HRC proposes a fair share surcharge and to close some tax loop holes.

Donald Trump’s (DT) plan of simplification appears to be more effective but without more specifics, such as which loop holes, it is impossible to crunch the numbers.

    • A flat tax on all types of income is the ideal approach.

HRC proposes to raise the minimum wage

I may have missed it but I could not find DT’s position on this issue on his website and his public posture on the issue is inconsistent.

    • This is a great idea! US Government statistics show that the real minimum wage has not increased since 1970 while national GDP has consistently increased.

HRC 100 days jobs plan

    • This plan is much better than DTs’ as it contains some specific goals and is forward thinking; solar vs fossil fuels

Make College Debt Free

    • Great idea Bernie! All student debt should be eliminated as well!

Profit sharing for employees

    • getting employees more involved in their work is a good idea!

Policies to meet 21st century challenges

    • Equal pay, guaranteed paid leave, and commitments to assist families with rising costs are all great initiatives

Security

Defeat ISIS and terrorism

    • My opinion on this issue can be found here

I applaud the Obama administration for working with Russia to broker a cease fire and hopefully improve the situation.

Gun violence prevention

    • A good idea because not everyone is responsible enough to own a weapon

Military and national security

Human security and national security are entwined!

    • I find nothing more arrogant and disrespectful than failure to learn from the sacrifice of our veterans. In 2006 Strategic experts at the US Department of Defense reported that there is a better way; in Robert Lamb’s words, protecting them (civilians) and respecting them. In three and half minutes Mr. Lamb summarizes key observations highlighting the growing redundancy of 20th century military strategies and introduces the 21st century concept: human security.

HRC public treatment of others

HRC has an integrity problem, she was caught on several different occasions not being truthful to the public.

Two examples of her profound lack of respect or judgment are:

      1. Her false claim to have personally experienced war.
      2. she has stated several times, “I am proud of what we have accomplished in Libya.” The result of the intervention, removing Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, created anarchy in a once stable country. Her failure to see the people of Libya as Human or acknowledge their new reality of a daily struggle for survival while living in fear and oppression is disturbing and disappointing.

Overall her policies are far superior to DT’s with the possible exception of taxation. HRC’s policies will steer America into the 21st century pity she has a serious integrity problem that has likely influenced many to support DT.

In part 3 I will compile, contrast, the two candidates and offer a couple of alternatives

yes they exist 🙂

Be seeing you!
